We have been receiving a lot of e-mails and calls inquiring about the Wehrmacht '47 items. We don't have an exact date that that they will be available, but it is looking like it will be the second week of March. We had a mix up with the company that prints our cards, and we will start packing them as soon as the cards get here (any day now). We have put together a sneak peek at some of the models, and a list of the first batch of releases.

Here are some photos of the new items:

This is just a taste of what is to come. The full list of the initial release is:

G-528 SdKfz 351/1 PzGrn Inf Vehicle

G-529 SdKfz 350/13 AT, 7.5cm/L48 PaK

G-530 SdKfz 350/9 Recon, 20mm turret

G-531 E-10, Traveling

G-532 SdKfz 350/1 Recon Inf Vehicle

G-533 SdKfz 351/2 Mortar Vehicle, 8cm

G-534 SdKfz 350/17 Lt. Tank, 5cm Puma Turret

G-535 SdKfz 351/22 AT, 7.5 cm/L48 PaK

G-536 E-10, Firing

G-537 E-25

G-538 E-50

G-539 E-75

G-540 SdKfz 351/9 Close ISV, 7.5cm/L24 Stummel Gun

G-541 German Late War Infantry

G-542 German Late War Heavy Weapoons

There are a lot of things here that have never been modeled before, in any scale! We will post some more pictures as the release date nears.

As always, thank you for your support!

This looks very interesting, but please consider producing some 1947 Allied packs to fight the Germans.

I've gotten the impression that they will, but they're just doing the Germans first for ease of research during production.

They indicated that they would be producing allied units as well. I am hoping for some to do a US/UK v USSR scenario right after the fall of Germany like Patton wanted.

Great job GHQ. I will have to get some when they are available.

GHQ, what about moving some items in the current line to the '47 where it is more appropriate:

G85 Panther IIF
G140 E-100
G86 FlakPanther Coelion
C149 Kubelblitz

I've never seen plans for the E-10 before, anyone know how the tread config was to be changed between travel and fire mode? I take it more or less turns into a a slightly mobile pillbox in fire postion.

Dear GHQ,
The new models look first class, true works of art.
OK so this is a long shot I know but !!
Any chance of seeing the not so well known Bs oztruc?
I met an old boy in a pub once who claims that after the war one example was found.
It was tested by the British and found to be an excellent bit of kit but not having tracks it was said to have no future.
It found its way down under and was used as an outhouse in Wagatail for many years until it went missing in the early 90's.
Only picture I could find.

Bushmilsmeister, Bs oztruc.
Rommel inspects new demo 88mm gun tractor. Germany april 1st 1944, about tea time.

Sorry this is the only information I could find but I know there would be a large following for this most interesting part of military history if you did add this to the Wehrmacht 47 range.
I for one would pick up 100+ for my Aus### I mean WWII German force.
Yours Faithfully,
7.62

I might be wrong, probably am. But, is that not a composite picture?

If you look carefully the drive sprocket and the idler sprocket "drop" to make the suspension system larger on the bottom for firing mode. Quite a mechanical achievemnet moving a heavy duty drive train with Hydraulics not just on one end but the other too. Can't help but feel what a mechanical nightmare!

7.62, yes, I believe I had stumbled across this photo before. Perhaps it was in a Zaloga book? Laughing

Really, I am extremely pleased with the new minis. I had originally posted a request for these way back on the first "wish-list" thread on this forum. These releases open up a new option not seeen before outside of 20mm gaming. I am sure the wife won't be happy but I will be! Very Happy

"Hence the 1st of April date."

D'oh! So much for my personal observation skills. Laughing

Thanks jb, I see how that works now. And they thought they had problems repairing the suspension on existing vehicles.

Harlan:
Generally speaking, I agree fully.
Move the "no-shows" out of the WW2 line and into the new "what-if" list.
On the other hand-
On a very limited basis, the Panther nightfighters they do have in "47" are actually legit WW2 vehicles. So are the Kugelblitz that you mention.
Depending on the source, there were as many as a dozen of those actually built and used in spring of "45". Again; very limited, but at least legitimate.
So to be fair, if you keep the 1-2 "Mice" that were completed in the WW2 line...

While I'm no fan of "W-47", there was a Hungarian full tracked vehicle very similar to the
SdKfz-351 that would be a "natural" for the line IMHO.
It reached prototype form in APC and ambulance variants, and was based on the Toldi/ Nimrod chassis. Unfortunately, I understand the Hungarian "tank-plants" were bombed into ruin by the allies before they got any further.
There used to be a couple good photos on the web of the prototypes, but the last time I looked the entire web site was no-more. I've not found them elsewhere...
JimR.
