|
|
I have been eyeing the modern micronauts range for a while now but there seems to be no new additions to the soviet range for years now. WHY?"
If i was going to ivest in it i would need the following models to come out eventually.
Kara class
Kresta I and Kresta II
Moskva hybrid cruisers
Charlie 1 to 3 attack subs
Alpha class
Yeah that would do for now ,,,,,,, any chance i can have all these with the next new releases list?
That would stop me going all out grumpy on this forum.

|
|
Thank you for your posting. I will add your votes for the following items to the Consolidated Micronaut Wish List:
- Late Cold War Soviet guided missile cruiser Kara (Project 1134B)-class
- Early Cold War Soviet guided missile cruiser Kresta I (Project 1134)-class
- Early Cold War Soviet guided missile cruiser Kresta II (Project 1134A)-class
- Early Cold War Soviet guided missile/helicopter cruiser Moskva (Project 1123)-class
- Early Cold War Soviet cruise missile submarine Charlie I (Project 670A)-class
- Late Cold War Soviet cruise missile submarine Charlie II (Project 670M)-class
- Late Cold War Soviet attack submarine Alfa (Project 705)-class
I could not find any reference to a Charlie 3 class submarine. If you could provide information on this, I will add it to the List. Also note that "Alfa" is the accepted spelling rather than "Alpha." Using "ph" for the "f" sound is not used in NATO designations.
As for the chances of any of these appearing in the near future, I am doubtful. Almost all the "modern" Micronauts released in the past several years have been post-Cold War or late Cold War ships that are still in service. Without prejudicing the excellent quality of GHQ, you might want to look at 3D printing vendors such as Shapeways. At a lower level of detail, you might also try Viking Forge. I know that some of the ships you want are produced by these organizations.

You are correct on both counts, Alfa is the correct spelling for the class and I was thinking of the 3 types of Victor class when talking about Charlie.
Always good to have your input.
I will list more soviet early units after work that are required for a workable soviet navy although I will spend more time double checking everything especially the subs

I believe CinC also still makes a number of these older Soviet ships...
I still see many of them listed as "in stock".
I know they're "second best" compared to GHQ but then, everyone else is anyway! _________________ "It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. Do you want me to add votes for the Victor I and Victor II?

Yes please Mr. Scheef.
Now i have i few more after extensive consultation of my modern volumes.
For my purposes i will exclude ships built after 1985 and ballistic missile submarines and ships already mentioned in this thread.
Echo II SSGN (interesting boat as it had to surface to lunch anti ship cruise missiles)
29 built
November class SSN (called also the widow maker as the reactor shielding left a lot to be desired)
14 built
Tango class SS (diesel boats able to operate the SS-N-15 anti sub missiles)
18 built
Kynda class cruisers (First soviet missile cruisers)
4 built
Kashin and Mod. Kashin (not sure how many were built)
I think this would be it for now. there are large number of frigates but i happy to leave it at that .
Mr. Sheef please feel free to add any or all to your list that you see fit.

I'd like to chime in and agree with all of Uncle Fireball's choices. I'm a few years away from expanding into naval units but would rather not go with lesser producers. I'll second all those classes and will see what else is on my wish list for late Soviet ships. |

Mr. Guroburov I would be interested in your late soviet choices, are we talking about 80,s and 90/s or 2000 onwards? _________________ There are things in the universe far more evil then a Rubber Duck |

I was thinking of just getting cold war to more modern Soviet/Russian. I'd love to do WWII fleets but the cost is still prohibitive at this time. I always thought WWI would be cool but I really only wanted US Navy for that period to do what if battles. I know, I'm odd that way. |

It would be very nice if GHQ started developing a larger "Cold War" range as there are SOOO many things to game in that era. Mostly "what ifs" but, those can be a ton (or is that tonne) of fun.
On another note - CinC is apparently about to close down later this year. Randy's getting up there and would prefer to focus on designing and casting rather than managing production and sales... _________________ "It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. Saw that about CinC. Hoping GHQ will pick up a couple things they don't already make, like the German M48A2GA2, Chapparal. _________________ All blessings flow from a good mission statement.

You know what would be good guys?
Japanese range for the 1905 Tsushima battle, we already have some of the ships for the russian navy in the ww1 section.
The footprint of such a game would be smaller you know gun ranges not that great speed of the ships lower, smaller ships etc.
And yes Starcruiser and Guroburov i'm wholeheartedly with you on expanding the modern range.
Investment in such range is smaller because say for soviet task force you might need a Kiev . Kara for AA support maybe if you feel adventures a Kirov class battlecruiser, 2 subs a destroyer or two and you got yourself a nice task force.
