ACWBill, your ships look great! Very nicely done. I like the fog effect. I can almost feel the cold. What are you using for the water? Is it a mat? When your Royal Navy finishes with the Germans sail south to the sunny Med. for action against the Regia Marina.

Mine is made with white foam boards, painted and then coated with water gel.

They look spectacular. I’ve never painted micronauts, looks very challenging. How did you get “Hood” on there - decal?? The photos are just great too!!

Wow, nice ships. Are those clear bases with some build-up and paint or fully painted that matches your table so nicely?

ACWBill- How are you attaching your ships to the bases? Or are they not attached?

I updated my picture archive of 1/2400 modern warships after about eight months.

Each Monday I highlight one manufacturer. This week the miniatures are from GHQ.

Painters/photographers are included in the description. You can find the whole archive at When Imagination Fails.

Here are my predictions for GHQ's 2019-2020 new WWII Micronaut models:

USA escort carrier Long Island, early war appearance
UK battleship Duke of York, late war appearance
Japan heavy cruiser Maya, late war appearance
UK Fleet Air Arm aircraft (preferably Blackburn Skua, Fairey Albacore, Fairey Fulmar, Gloster Sea Gladiator, and Hawker Hurricane)

If there is a fifth one, France torpedo boat La Melpomene class.

Best Wishes to GHQ and all the Forum members,

Michael D. Waters/michaelw43

I use Vallejo Water Gel, which I then texturize with dental tools. When it dries, I dry brush white for wave effects. Then a use Realistic water which I shade with food coloring (very small amounts will do). The gel also secures them to the base, which is a Litko product.
