Thanks Pete. Polish, your bocage looks really good and your town hexes are inspiring to follow suit. My buildings just don't look right sitting next on a grass covered hex next to a road - I think you hit on a good idea.

Fields are looking good too!

Thanks Burt! Agreed! I tried that as well... dropping buildings on a grass hex and while doable, just did not look right. So now I am going with securing the buildings to the hex and building around them. Only downside is you lose that ability to place that building on another hex... so it is a give and take. But I think the appearance is much better.

For no good reason I have decided to embark on an airfield project- Nothing crazy but am going to stick my toe in the water. First scratch built building inspiration:

First build out (trying to simulate patched metal roof):

That's a great looking hangar! I'm always impressed with the work that I see on this forum. I wish I had the skill and patience to model with that kind of detail!

Agreed!

Good job Burt. I love watching an idea/picture come to life in the 3d scratch built world.

Good stuff!

Wow! Looking good!

Progress! Its funny how much better items look when they have a gaming table as a backdrop. As opposed to the work bench/table.

Very cool!

Just beautiful Polish.
Burtwolf, love that hangar. I am just starting a recycle-ling of a couple of old airport tiles, will have to have a go at something like this. My paper hangar is showing its age.

Just ordered more hexes to do an airfield, would like to see pics of yours as a go by. Not sure whether to go with a desert scenario or not as it seems more likely… Problem is I have not made any desert hexes yet ha ha Ha.

Not sure that I will be adding Yer Bouti as a new Nation here but will be updating this blog now and then, see under YB City. Not much yet.

https://yerbouti6.blogspot.ca

Also maybe on this "show us your terrain" as I go.
The whole Idea of my YB City is to use it as a test bed for the one day mega Nation of Balzac.
So YB City will have a little bit of everything from roads, buildings ,river/water etc.
All the good stuff will go towards Balzac so YB will be done on the cheap.
