“All Rampage elements, this is Rampage 6. Apparently we’re not going to give the PAC a chance to withdraw. I guess we’ll just kill them right here. Axe (callsign for A Company) kill that advanced guard. Saber…Razor (call signs for scout and mortar platoons respectively) punch that main body in the balls. Rampage 6 out”.

As the advanced guard wallows in indecisiveness, exchanging inaccurate fire with the Canadians, the commander of A Company gives orders to his men. Almost simultaneously, two flashes appear on the ridgeline near the highway, followed by barely discernable smoky streaks that strike the BRDM and one of the trucks. Both vehicles erupt into brilliant orange fireballs as a pair of M240 machine guns open up from the A Company position. At 300 meters, the gunners are accurate as hell, raking the dismounted PAC infantrymen first and then hosing the two remaining trucks, punching hundreds of holes through the aluminum sides and the canvas tarps.

The noise from the slaughter is deafening, so much so that one could barely make out the sharp report of the big 120mm mortars firing from behind the ridge. 2 kilometers away, the scouts who called the fire mission watch as the 120mm HE rounds impact in and around the PAC vehicles, shredding man and machine alike. Several buses and light trucks catch fire and at least 10 infantrymen are cut down as they run for cover. 2 of the T-55s had already offloaded, but the third was backing down off of the flatbed when the rounds strike. The tank driver panics and ducks inside the tank as it is moving and the T-55 rolls its left track off the trailer, causing the tank to slide off sideways and roll over onto its side. The 2 remaining T-55s drive north with the 10 BTRs falling in behind them.

(Canadian Paratrooper #1): "I think we got the PAC on the run.
(Canadian Paratrooper #3): "I hope it stays that way."
(Canadian Paratrooper #2): "You think those T-55s tanks can reach us?"
(Canadian Sergeant): "Don't be ridiculous guys im sure where out of its firing range."

The Airborne continues to exchange gunfire with the PAC's advanced guards.

The advanced guard is dead. You are 2 kilometers away from the main body.

The tanks and BTRs are heading to the north. PAC infantry in trucks are heading to the south.

(Major Clarkson): "Fire Support company get those M72s ready, Now!"
(Canadian Paratrooper #1): "Oh boy now where in for it."

The Airborne's Support company gets their M72s ready for the armor. the No2 Company in on the ridge with the Support Company to form their own firing line. most of the paratroopers are shaking over the site of the Tanks and APCs charging towards them.

Canada this is Rampage, take the initiative Make the enemy react to you, don't wait for them to come to you to dictate the battle. Did you bring vehicles or generators? If so you can siphon fuel out of them and make molotov cocktails. Surely you brought some plastic explosive to build IEDs. The mortar section we sent you can fire HE or smoke rounds. The battalion mortars can fire a mission on the tanks and BTRs if you can make them stop momentarily.Shoot, move, and communicate!

Rampage is on the move. B Company is moving from the TAA to the south preparing to meet the PAC truck-mounted infantry. C Company remains in place and is now the battalion reserve. A Company removes the roadblock and puts a rifle platoon into the 5 HMMWVs that we brought. The battalion mortars fire another mission at the confused gaggle of PAC troops 2 kms down the road.

Canada, you have about 15 minutes until the PAC armor reaches you!

(Major Clarkson): "We don't have any Vehicles, nor plastic explosives. Where just paratroopers."
(Canadian Paratrooper #1) "Here they come."
(Canadian sergeant): "Ah crap where screwed."

The Airborne stayed where they are positioned on the objective the rifle company's began to open fire on the PAC Armor, while the Support Company tries to get their M72s ready.

Your LAW teams should be finding positions for surprise flank shots. You should be prepared for the tanks to penetrate your line, then fire the LAWs into sides and rear of the tanks while your riflemen engage accompanying enemy infantry. While the LAW should penetrate the frontal armor, a frontal shot is not ideal.

(Canadian Support Paratrooper): "Got two LAWs ready."
(Major Clarkson): "Good Bring them to our line, target the Tanks."

The 2 Law teams runs up to the main Canadian formation and lines up for the shot. One rocket ricocheted off the turret of the T-55 and exploded on the ground without causing any damage. The Other LAW team stood up to take a shot but gunfire from one of the APCs kills him while clutching the Launcher it pointed at the direction of the Barracade and the rocket flew out and hits the leading ROD Hummve that A Company was using the Hummvee exploded and flew out on to the road killing whoever was inside. The Humvee lands on the highway. Slowing down the other 4 behind it.

(Major Clarkson): "Ok New Plan, Get the remaining Anti-tank platoon to some kind of a Ambush position to hit the tanks from the sides, I hope it's not too late."
(Support Conpany Major): alright get thoses LAWs into ambush positions or somewhere and hurry."

The Anti-Tank Platoon nervously gathers there remaining LAWs and hurries to find a good ambush site for dealing with the tanks.

An officer leader must, at this point, designate the positions for your anti Tank teams so that fire is coordinated and effective. Select the positions so the team's will have time to get there before the tanks.

Good job Canada! Maneuver against those guys…keep them reacting to you. And when you get their tanks and BTRs to stop, call the mortars in on them. Use everything you have!

B Company has moved to the south into some rough ground where they ran into the PAC truck-borne infantry. At first contact the two sides exchanged fire and the trucks stopped to dismount their infantry. The FO team on the ridge was zeroed in on the trucks so as soon as they stopped he directed the 60mm mortars from both A and C companies onto them.

The poorly trained PAC troops panicked. Three trucks sped away, turning north to escape the kill zone. Some infantrymen scattered and others dropped to the ground and rolled under the trucks to avoid the air bursts. 1st Platoon / B Co kept up a withering fire from the front of the truck convoy while the CO moved with 2nd and 3rd Platoons around the southern flank to form an L shaped line. As soon as the mortars fell silent the CO led 2nd and 3rd Platoons in an assault through the PAC position, shooting and stabbing everything in their path. 1st Platoon shifted fire to the north and then ceased firing altogether. After the assault force passed through the position, 1st Platoon move through it checking for anything of intelligence value, writing down radio frequencies, and generally tearing the vehicles apart. Wounded PAC soldiers were dragged away from the vehicles and placed under guard while the ROD medics tended to them.

The trucks that escaped to the north found themselves driving straight into the ROD position on the ridge. One truck was destroyed by a Javelin ATGM and the other two were riddled with machine gun and rifle fire.

A platoon from A Co, mounted in the mortar platoon’s HMMWVs sped of down the highway for 300 meters and then turned north. There are 2 Javelins and 3 M240s in the HMMWVs with the paratroopers. Rampage TOC notifies the Canadian command post that an ROD platoon is crossing the unit boundary and attempting to attack the PAC armor from the rear. Meanwhile, the battalion’s heavy mortars are oriented north, waiting for a fire mission on the PAC armor.
