Just wandering which guns go with which half track. The "insides" have different layouts, or does it really matter?

Well - to start out... Which half tracks are ya talkin' about?

The Sd.Kfz 250 series were the smaller armored half tracks, while the Sd.Kfz 251 series were the larger armored types.

There were also a wide range of unarmored half tracks for various jobs and some of those did get used to carry AAA or the like at various times.

Might look this over a bit and get back with what particular model(s) you are asking about:

Much german artillery was actually horse drawn and more were drawn by trucks so the theoretical pairing of half-tracks to artillery pieces was an ideal , especially later in the war when they would just use whatever was still available.

As a rough guide :

- SdKfz 10 - 37mm ATG
- SdKfz 251 - 50mm & 75mm ATGs, 75mm IG
- SdKfz 11 - 105mm
- SdKfz 7 - 150mm & 88mm FlaK & ATG
- SdKfz 8 - 170mm
