Ok lets try this one:

In 1943 after the battle of Kursk where the soviets encountered Tigers and Panthers in large numbers it became obvious that the 76mm F-34 gun of the T-34 is inadequate to penetrate the armour of the new german tanks.
So before the T-34/85 came into service the soviets tried mounting a high velocity gun of a smaller caliber on the existing T-34's but only small numbers were so converted.
What was the caliber of the weapon?

P.S Gave up smoking today,,, why does it feel like just killed my best friend? Lets just hope that uncle Fireball doesn't revert to his old grumpy self.

PM me with your email for the prize.

If you have given up smoking, you have truly SAVED your best friend, Fireball. And if you revert to your old, grumpy self, at life least we will have to endure you for a longer time, which should bring you great joy. I watched my father die of lung cancer at 61. It took a year. It was not an easy death, for him or the rest of us. And you will have a lot more money to spend on GHQ miniatures, not to mention the time to paint 'em!

Oh, I am always watching, you can be sure. I havent had anything useful to offer. The contests are good. The winner need only be rewarded with acknowledgement, though. That should be enough. You will have to write a lot of new game rules if you keep up your current practice.

Glad your mom made it through. Dad died in '81. There are more options for treatment now.

Never denied I had a sense of humor. After all, I had an M60A2 platoon... Do you really think you can change your image? I see you have a sense of humor, as well...

But seriously, tried other forums and lets just say that they were not working out i suppose i just invested too much grumpiness into this one to just let go Very Happy

Not worth being a curmudgeon unless you can enjoy it.

curmudgeon ? never came across that word before Very Happy

But if it means negative and grumpy then that I was but trying to mellow out a bit ... not smoking anymore does not help here.
For example yesterday I was going to post on the subject of my pet peeve on this forum but restrained myself with great difficulty Very Happy

P.S a question for you, thinking of getting into GHQ modern naval, currently I have ww1 and ww2 ships.
So how long is the model of Russian Kiev Carrier/cruiser?
