Yer Bouti,
A group of Bedouin moving in southern Yer Bouti came across 13 bodies lying in the dirt. Some tied up and shot. A few appear to have been shot running away with bullet entry in the back, back of legs and back of head. 3 dead camels were shot, although some were cut up for meals. The bedouin that came across the dead rode camels to YB militia patrol on highway 8 km away, brought them to the scene. More YB soldiers were called in. 3 of 4 missing soldier are found dead that have been missing for over 2 1/2 weeks. It was thought that they went AWOL. Missing equipment include radio, weapons, ammo and utility vehicle, GAZ-469. The militia and investigators followed trail south to the border with Mauritania. Radio in for instructions.
.
North Mauritania
The commotion in YB caught the attention of CoC soldiers, flying 3 helicopters north, NH-90 and 2 Tiger. Using the sighting system looking at the mess 2 miles in YB detecting some bodies and people moving around with radio traffic.
. The Tigers detects a GAZ-469 under cover of brush with the sighting system. Using thermals the metal get really hot illuminating through the brush covered. Calling the NH-90 which lands. Team dis-embarks evaluating the area. Radio call in. 2 dead civilians that had been dug up by animal from just being covered with dirt and the corpse of a soldier in YB uniform that was buried deeper with rocks covering his grave.
. Further investigation indicates that this is a Canadian soldier, named Cpl. Simon J. Smyth, Canadian Airborne based upon dog tags. His name was on the list of missing, He had not requested asylum. He did have a few 7.62x39mm rounds in his body. The dead YB soldier was shot as well having bleed to death. Several AK-47s, SKS, 2 muskets, and few other rifles found buried in the dirt near the graves, between the Canadian soldier and the two mauled bodies.
. Further evaluation indicates that the Canadian troops entered YB at some point, not sure the reason. But believed they were discovered by the Bedouin, were detained for a day or two. Or they were discovered and followed the Bedouin north into YB.
. Transmission to YB government and phone call to YB State Dept explaining the find. Inviting YB investigators to Mauritania. Also asking for access to YB site, which was initially denied, but approved later. The preliminary result confirm that Canadian soldier in YB. The first group of 10 could have been trying to rob the Canadian soldiers or just saw them and the Canadians want to keep out of site, then felt compelled to eliminate them.
. On site, the YB and CoC investigators concur on the findings.

Yer Bouti
There are rumors that Yer Bouti is in process to reduce the size of their armored force structure. Supposedly, selling some older tanks in the world market. It will bring in cash, but YB is collecting over $40 million per month from petroleum royalties.
Since YB had acquired advanced armored vehicles such as the T-90, BMP-3,etc. they are showing the policy to be highly capable, a professional army.
