New Canada Consulate, Komox Karmanaskis.

upload jpeg

The New Canadian Military Attache has returned to the consulate after the NC observers left during the demo.

(Lt Colonel Gerald): (Takes off his gas mask) "Good Lord, the Pot smoke outside is terrible today."

(Staff worker 1): (Takes off his gas mask) : "Indeed *cough*, I don't understand way its part of their culture though, as its quite silly to be honest."

(Staff worker 2): (Takes off his gas mask): "it least the country's demo went pretty well, though our observers left."

(Consulate General): " *Cough* Close the door gentleman your letting in the pot smoke".

(Staff Worker 2): "Sorry sir" (closes the door).

All of them meet in the Consulate Generals office.

(Consulate General): "So how was Karma's demonstration of their military?"

(Lt Colonel Gerald): "The country's defense strategy seems... A little sluggish to be honest."

(Consulate general): "How so"?

(The Lt colonel gives him a marked document for the Consulate general to read).

Thank you, Karmanaskis, for the great demonstration and the tour of your buildings and ship! You have a first rate operation!

[GM's Note: great looking factory and ship, Mick! I am olive drab with envy! I love your buildings and cityscapes, and your sip is fantastic!]

The CoC appreciates the demonstration and hosting of the exercises. Really appreciate the private tour and weapon system showcase.

Thanks redleg and CofC for the assistance with the new Amphibious Support Ship.

The Karma Navy and Marines have had to take a 'Capability holiday' over the last couple of years due to funding shortfalls.
The new ship is almost two years late coming online but it will offer a huge improvement in Amphibious Support for the KDF.
As an Island Nation the importance of littoral control can not be over stated.
It should be operational by 1st Nov.

Lost operational skills and local industrial knowledge has received support from the ROD.
Continued exchange of information and join exercises are to be fostered in the near future.

Hardware and systems for the ship, including the CIWS is coming from the CofC. This is again an area we could not have mastered without outside assistance, thanks Chris.

Now I need to increase the recruitment for the Marines!

The CoC is always ready to learn from others, and share knowledge as well.
In a few of our African- DOMs, there is a recruitment opportunity. Economic activity has improved over the last year, We have utilized many of those people to fill ranks within the Commonwealth military units. Pay them more than the pay rate in their country/dom.
We can transfer 4-10,000 soldiers to you. We have also been working on educating them to speak English. The NCOs do speak English as well. We have an estimated 2,000 deployed in the Syrian operation.

How are those Orca-2 subs coming along? Are you still expecting S-32 to be completed in late 2019? The ROD submarine community is very interested in this boat and its capabilities!

We thank the CofC for the offer of assistance however only Karma-Naskis citizens can join the KDF.
With the current system of conscription in place, manpower numbers are not the problem.
It is maintaining the standards and quality that takes time and effort.
The Karma Amphibious Korps was reduced over the years. It sounds impressive but needs to grow again.
At the moment the 1st Marine Regt is down to 1x full time company with 2 reserve companies.
A handful of support unit are with them but funding has been missing for many years.
A Marine (Reserve) Artillery unit is taking part in the ongoing small unit exercises (Photo to come). This unit has not been active for several years.

redleg, The Navy has been very coy about the new Orca 2.
Other than the name KNS Arrow (S32) and the requests for more resources, little information has made the press.
The boat is complete in Kiel with around 75 KDF navy staff arriving in Germany some three Months ago.
25 or so are expected to sail her home very soon.
The program is behind schedule and probably over budget.
Asked for comment the KDF replied.
"KNS Arrow will be commissioned this year."

Orca Class submarines are used by 41 SQN Karma Navy.

New Canada seems impressed by this ship you have Karmanaskis. Our RCN does not have the ability to launch amphibious assaults. We nether have the type of ships nor the vehicle necessary to carry out such a tactic.

Germany.
The new Orca Class submarine KNS Arrow (S32) departed Kiel late Monday.
It will take a few weeks to transit home to K-Country.

***Edit***
low light photo of the Orca 2 passing a normal type 212 on which it is based.

The amphibious support ship KNS Fearsome is now in service with the KDF.

It will be some time before it is fully mission ready. It is still awaiting watercraft and weapons fit so no Amphibious operations just yet.

It is however taking part in exercises with the KDF. In the past a car ferry was used to move units along the coast and to some outer Islands. The Fearsome is well built for this role.

Nice navy units. It appears your vehicle drivers are really skinny!

Those are great looking ships! The ROD would definitely like to do some amphibious ops with Karmanaskis!

Panzar, Mostly failed T-55 drivers.

Redleg. Yes as the KDF Marines build up we will have to do some shakedown exercises in some warmer waters. That will be a good Winter project.
This is the biggest Navy asset so far. The KDF is slowly taking baby steps.

New Canada is looking to get into amphibious assault tactics but, we don't know which Ship would suit our purpose.

The New Canada already has the amphibious retreat and loose our 'arse' tactics down pat.

The submarine KNS Arrow transited Panama early today.
After descending the last lock on the Southern (Pacific) side, a brief stop was made at a near by pier.

KNS Arrow with compulsory GHQ Captain in the tower.

The KDF had flown in supplies and stores which are quickly stowed or added. Local fresh food is also most welcome. After some new crew are rotated the sub casts off and heads in to the Pacific. Next stop Karma-Naskis.
