You got it in one, sorry for the slang there, it is Games Workshop Spray Primer.

Great primer, both white and black.

On the other hand, when you are done painting your mini, nothing compares to Testor's Dullcote. DO NOT use GW spray VARNISH - they are both thick and come in shiny ('ard Coat) or slightly less shiny ('Purity Seal'). My opinion of course.

I would second that Cama, ive used the GW seal and its a matt/gloss and ive ruined a few good painted models with that.

I must get some testors though

I spray matt varnish prior to ink wash. It helps evenly spread the wash. Remove excess pooling with another brush.

So I just use a base coat of white or sometimes brown. Should I really be using something designated on the label as a "primer"?
