The Germans had plans to replace all the panzer grenadier halftracks with fully tracked vehicles. Mounted on the improved Skoda 38(d) chassis with the engine in the front, this standard infantry armoured personnel carrier could carry a full squad. It was designed for use in all the gepanzert (armoured) battalions in the panzer grenadier battalions of panzer and panzer grenadier divisions. The standard German squad light machine gun was the standard armament. It was to have had a maximum speed of 45 kilometers per hour.
