Balzac State News.
There seems to have been a major incident at the Naval dockyard in Balzac.
A secure area of the yard believed to be responsible for special coatings (Stealth technology) has been under lock down all evening with a large police and military presence.

The BSDF is not releasing any information.
We did speak to some of the many contractors in the local pub (the Brass Monkey).
None would go on record but one said "It's a very sticky problem that's not getting any better".
All work on 2 hovercraft, 2 ships and a Naval helicopter at the site has been halted.

The nearby Army site with 12 Leopard MBT's also stopped work but seems to not be effected.

And now for the weather and traffic over to Rosey.............

Had a hiccup with my normal spray can grey primmer!
Maybe just a bad/old can but not drying as it should Mad
I had just stripped the Leo's but pretty much ruled out contamination.
Probably some kind of cyber attack by you know who.

I think your primer was probably made in Camastan. We're known for substandard manufacturing at great prices for profit minded corporations. Also we ensure diesel emissions on super quiet subs are up to standard. Cool

Das auto.
Das boot.

Now I've got to check the warranty on the new subs!
Better check the G wagons too!

Dam this asymmetric warfare.

The Balzac Defense Forces are looking very nice, effective, at least in appearance. Camastan better watch out. Look at those sleek stealth corvettes, Camastan only has Ginger.....
Mick, nice looking Leopard 2A6s, look familar, I've seem them before, just not sure where. The air-cushion landing craft are great, so is the sub!

I need to get back to work, painting some stuff, CV9030, CV9040, CV9035 for the Dutch. Paint a Virginia, build & paint a 688I, 2 Freedom class ships in 1/350 and an Independence.
To much to do....

Nice buildup.

Nice warm weather in Oct has kept me out and about longer than normal so the BSDF is running behind on the planned restructuring.
On the positive side I now have a large backlog of pewter to keep me going over the next few Months.
I have the basics of what I need for a new balanced force. The shortfall in Naval assets has also been addressed.
The only area that has not gone to plan is my wheeled IFV. I had planned to use the TPZ Fuchs as a XA-203 stand in but have only picked up a few.

I have about 60 GHQ LAV 25/ASLAV and may end up using them without the turrets and add an OWS unless someone has 30 TPZ they would care to swap at 2 to 1!

The peace loving Nation of Balzac will be able to deploy.

7 Group (Operational Maneuver Group).
71 MotorBat (wheeled IFV?)
72 MekBat, 2x Leo 2A6 coy. 2x CV90 coy

4 Group South.
41 MekBat (Reserve) 2x Leo 2A4 coy. 2x M113 coy
42 MekBat 1x Leo 2A6 coy. 1x CV90 coy

18 Group Goatland.
18 MekBat 1x Leo 2A6 coy. 1x CV90 (Planned by Dec 2015) few Leo 2 & M113 seen Oct 2015.

19 Group North.
19 MekBat 1x Leo 2A4 coy. 1x M113/Bv202 coy

2 Amphib Korp
16 AOG (Air Operations Group)
SOG

Many support units are starting to fill out and may be added to the above as required.
Such as A9 Artillery with 2x tracked 155mm Batt, 1x towed 155mm Batt.

The BALZAC forces group has some real ability to project power, or at least in the near future at a tactical and operational level.
Nice build up and structure.

With cloud cover, my satellites have not been able to determine any hostile or surveillance activities in the area. We have withdrawn our naval and air assets in the area since we feared a shooting war.

BS News.
We believe a change of government may have taken place in Camastan.
"Hopefully a new peaceful future awaits the long repressed people of that poor Nation.
We are watching very closely and will be ready to offer humanitarian assistance if required" the PM said.

Completely unrelated to this, the MV Tim Horton has been under going a project to adapt 60 shipping containers and metal decking to allow the ship to be used in just such situations.

The modification can be added or removed from the ship at short notice.
This Ro- ro ship can then transport or serve as a hospital with fully supported
helicopter capacity. The cargo decks allow for many thousands of tons of supplies to be carried.

To plan and practice the very complex logistical requirements of a large scale humanitarian relief effort the BSDF was used to represent cargo trucks and supplies.

It should be able to carry 500 or so "aid workers" too!

Cheers.

Mick,
That looks sooooooo nice, it is really wonderful. great conversion. Your humanitarian preparation planning and effort is to be commended. Have the emergency helos, the tracked vehicles to take food, medical supplies into difficult terrain. I like the MANN tank haulers. Your rapid rescue force looks very nice and capable. I see you left the Centurions in the motor pool, way too slow. Good choice.
Are you prepared for any terrorist activity? Do you suspect any possibility?

Looks like an assault force calling its movements a humanitarian effort. Nice ploy. Chris should fall for it.

What would I fall for...? I will not fall for any trap or ploy, so what is it you are saying I would fall for? I see legitimate humanitarian effort, economic prosperity plans and development. I would like to trade for some goat milk, goat meat and goat eggs, please.
May I get an update on the weather, it is raining hard here this morning, I did not hear about this nor'easter. Then I would like update on traffic please.
Paul, my Aussies a speed bump, it would be equal to two or three speed bumps in secession, What if I augment that force with 500 Ratels, 60 Rooikats, 70 tanks from the SADF. And to added measure, my Canadians, with 100 6x6 Grizzlies, Cougars, 60 LAV25, M113s, 60 Leopards 1 and 70 Leopard 2 A6 M Can. Does that scare you now?
