A class of four ships originally built for Iran. Following the fall of the Shah the vessels were transferred to the USN. Commissioned in 1981, they participated in Operation Desert Storm, Persian Gulf escort duties, and narcotic interdiction in the Atlantic and Caribbean. Decommissioned in 1998, they were sold to Taiwan in 2004.
