The F-2 entered service in 2000. A total of 98 aircraft were produced through 2011 and approximately 60 remain in service. Developed from the F-16, wing area was increased by 25%, as well as the tailplane surface and air intake. Composite materials were used to offset the weight increase and reduce the aircraft’s radar signature.
