The first US Navy aircraft carrier, converted from the collier USS Jupiter in 1920. She served as test bed for naval aviation and pilot training. Converted to a seaplane tender and aircraft transport in 1937, she was scuttled off the Java coast after being disabled by a Japanese air attack in 1942.
